A Look at Markets

Farmers Markets have come up from time to time on this blog. I have written previously about my wife's 3rd great-grandmother Susanna Euler Rech selling eggs, fruit and garden produce at the Fourth Street Market in Evansville, Indiana. On a different branch of her tree, her 4th great-grandfather Francois Antoine Halter may have sold produce at the famous French Market of New Orleans, or he very likely shopped there. I have covered a smaller type of market, Musgrave Orchards, which sold cider and apples straight from the farm.

In this post, I have a collection of photos from two famous markets I visited in April, the Grand Bazaar of Istanbul, and Pike Place Market in Seattle. Each were unique, with their sounds, smells, and samples to taste.
